Pro Kabaddi League:

Pro kabaddi league season 5 going to be start soon and with the addition of four new teams the pro kabaddi league becomes bigger and bigger every day. In this season of PKL 12 teams will played more than 130 matches in 13 weeks to win the tittle.










The new teams — Gujarat Fortune giants, Haryana Steelers, UP Yoddha, Tamil Thalaivas — along with Patna Pirates, Puneri Paltan, Jaipur Pink Panthers, Bengaluru Bulls, Dabang Delhi, Bengal Warriors, Telugu Titans, U Mumba repectively.

The teams are divided into two groups of six teams each. Zone A consists of Dabang Delhi, Jaipur Pink Panthers, Puneri Paltan, U Mumba, Haryana Steelers, Gujarat Fortune Giants

We take a look at strenghth and weekness of teams in Zone A.



Gujarat Fortune Giants:


Gujarat Fortune Giants is one of the new teams of pro kabaddi league, and are expected to perform good in their matches starts from 1 August. The star raider Sukesh Hegde, who also played for Telugu Titans in the previous edition will led the team with the Iranian duo of Fazel Atrachali and Abozar Mohajermighani, they possess match winners in their ranks. Gujarat Fortune giants look more stable and strong as they have Mahendra Ganesh Rajput to support their captain Sukesh hegde.

Strength: The strong Iranian corner combination of Fazel and Abozar will be very difficult for any side to win and the experience of Sukesh Hedge  brings on the table will be a cherry on the cake for them.

Weakness: They lack strong covers to support the corner combination.

Puneri Paltan:


Puneri Paltan is One of the top four teams in the history of Pro Kabaddi League, Deepak Hooda currently led the team of Puneri Paltan with experienced players like Dharmaraj Chelerathan, Sandeep Narwal and Rajesh Mondal.

Strength: Their right mix of experienced and youth players puts them way ahead of the other 11 teams. Their trio of Deepak, Sandeep and Chelarathan will once again put pressure on the rival teams. With Takamatsu Kono and Ziaur Rahman in the team gives the option to rest their key defenders when required.

Weakness: Puneri Paltan lack depth in the squad.

Jaipur Pink Panthers:


Jaipur Pink Panthers are the inaugural season winners and are most likely to hand over the captaincy post to Jasvir Singh. Manjeet Chhillar, who also played for Puneri Paltan in season 4 of pro kabaddi league, holds the key for them. While Selvamani K will play a supportive role to Jasvir and Manjeet, youngster Manoj Dhull and Somvir Shekhar will handle their defence.

Strength: Selvamani’s experience and Manjeet-Jasvir pair puts Jaipur Pink Panthers team with one of the strongest attacks.

Weakness: There is not much support for Navneet in the left cover.

U Mumba:


U Mumba, the team currently led by Anup Kumar, is  One of the most consistent and strong contender of Pro Kabaddi League had successful outings in the past and will particularly aim to replicate the same. After failing to make its position into the playoffs in the fourth season of Pro Kabaddi League, U Mumba will look to pose a stiff challenge to the other teams. Shabeer Bapu, is also an impressive purchase by U Mumba. Dabang Delhi’s Kashiling Adake also joins the second season champions U Mumba, making them one of the brutal forces in the league.

Strength: Trio of Anup Kumar, Kashiling and Shabeer Bapu, U Mumba will pose a tough contender in the challenge to the other teams. Not to forget local boy Nitin Madane, who is looking to make a strong comeback and eagerly waits to prove his individual worth to the team U Mumba in pro kabaddi league.

Weakness: Anup Kumar’s fitness will be a challenge for U Mumba. Having the Indian skipper fit throughout the season will be one of the task the supporting staff will be looking forward to the same

Dabang Delhi:


Dabang Delhi After finishing seventh in the previous edition of pro kabaddi league, Dabang Delhi will look to turn their fortunes in the fifth edition. With an all-new squad and under Meeraj Sheykh’s captaincy, Dabang Delhi is all set to take the Panga. After acquiring the services of Iran’s Abolfazel Maghsodlo and Nilesh Shinde, they pose a strong defence.

Strength: Dabang Delhi have a pretty good balanced side. With Meeraj Sheykh, Abolfazel, Nilesh Shinde and Bajirao Hodge, the Delhi team can promise an improved performance in the fifth season of pro kabaddi league.

Weakness: In Meeraj’s absence, it will be interesting to see who will take the charge of the team and if the team will be able to deliver with a mixture of young players.

Haryana Steelers:


Haryana Steelers is one of the new team making their pro kabaddi debut Steelers have two of the best defenders in their squad — Surender Nada and Mohit Chhillar. The duo has combined 308 tackle points in the history of the pro kabaddi league. Their raid department will be lead by Surjeet Singh, Wazir Singh and Sonu Narwal.

Strength: With Surender Nada, Mohit Chhillar, Sonu Narwal and Surjeet Singh, a lot can be expected from the Haryana Steelers.

Weakness: Haryana Steelers is over-reliant on their star powers.
