Telugu Titans Assemble Young Squad Mixed With Experience: Pro Kabaddi League Season 5

                         

The fifth edition of the Pro Kabaddi League is ready to break new barriers. With four new teams and an extended program for three months, the league is ready to please kabaddi lovers.

For the Telugu Titans, the journey is a mixed bag, they have shown a lot of promise during the league stage but have never been successful in winning the title. With the new season of pro kabaddi league starting next month, the management went to a young team to give their first title.

After giving an option to retain an one existing player. Telugu Titans chose his icon player Rahul Chaudhari, he has been the mainstay for the team.  However, after a two-day auction of pro kabaddi league held in New Delhi, Titans assembled a young team mixed with experience.

Titans spent Rs 53 lakh for raider Nilesh Salunke and bought a veteran Rakesh Kumar, from U Mumba who was also a member of India's World Cup winning team Since 2007. He also worked as a vice-captain in that season.

In addition to their experience, the Telugu Titans management selected four new players, who are entering the pro kabaddi league for the first time. Management believes that these players are their black horse because there is no clue about the opposition.

Telugu Titans coach Naveen Kumar, who is also entering the pro kabaddi league for the first time, says that they have covered all the bases and have formed a strong unit. “We took Rakesh Kumar as he is one of the most experienced players in the country. He played for the Indian team that won World Cup and we also retained Rahul Chaudhari. Both these players are very talented and experienced. Most of the players are new but they are very talented. Four of them are in the league for the first time,”

Commenting on the new players, he said, “Titans are one of the strong contenders. We have dark horses in Services players. They are playing the pro kabaddi league for the first time. Telugu Titans will be using them as trump card. There are two good raiders. I don’t want to reveal the names. The new season is long, and physical and mental strength are more important,” he concluded.
